Building Stronger Partnerships for Bacolod
BACOLOD - The Bacolod City Government signed three new partnerships on August 28 under the leadership of Mayor Greg Gasataya, aimed at strengthening tourism, business opportunities, and the city's connections with visitors and wider markets. The agreements bring together the local government, educational institutions, transportation companies, and business organizations in a collaborative effort to promote Bacolod and create more opportunities for local enterprises. Through these partnerships, the city hopes to showcase its culture, welcome more visitors, and provide local businesses with greater access to markets and promotional opportunities.
Promoting Culture Through Tourism and Visitor Experiences
One of the partnerships with La Consolacion College Bacolod (LCC Bacolod) will focus on the creation of an Augmented Reality Tourism Mural. The project is expected to showcase Bacolod's culture, identity, and local imagery through an interactive tourism attraction. The city also partnered with 2GO Travel to provide a free Bacolod City rolling tour for passengers of the MV Maligaya every Wednesday during its stopover at BREDCO Port. The initiative is designed to give visiting passengers an opportunity to explore the city and experience some of its attractions during their port visit.
Public-Private Cooperation for Sustainable Growth
Mayor Greg Gasataya emphasized that government cannot accomplish development goals on its own and that progress becomes more achievable when the private sector works alongside the local government. The three partnerships demonstrate how cooperation among government, schools, businesses, and industry organizations can create opportunities for tourism promotion and economic development. As Bacolod continues to pursue growth, stronger public-private partnerships can help build a more connected local economy while contributing to the welfare and prosperity of Bacolodnon communities.
