MAKATI CITY — A fresh, locally‑inspired hotel experience is coming to the busiest intersection of Makati. Hilton and Ayala Land Hospitality have signed an agreement to open the first Canopy by Hilton in the Philippines, bringing a lifestyle‑driven stay to the One Ayala development. Scheduled to open in 2026, the 24‑storey, 400‑room property will rise above the bustling One Ayala development, a new landmark that blends culture, creativity, and commerce in Makati’s most vibrant neighborhood.

A Lifestyle Hotel Rooted in Filipino Creativity

Canopy by Hilton is known for stylish, locally connected stays that reflect the spirit of their surroundings. Canopy Makati will carry that ethos forward with a perspective rooted in warm hospitality, full of energy, and infused with modern design. “Introducing our Canopy brand to the Philippines is a significant milestone, especially in such a vibrant junction in the heart of Makati,” said Maria Ariizumi, Hilton’s vice president for development in Southeast Asia. The hotel’s 400 rooms and suites will blend contemporary comfort with materials and artwork inspired by Manila’s creative and cultural scene.

Dining and Nightlife at the Core of the Experience

Dining and nightlife will be key pillars of the Canopy Makati experience. The property will feature a destination restaurant, a rooftop bar with sweeping skyline views, and a hidden speakeasy that captures Manila’s eclectic energy. These spaces are designed to host DJ sets, cultural events, and stylish social gatherings, making the hotel a hub for locals and travelers alike. “The Philippines continues to shine as a vibrant and dynamic destination, celebrated for its rich cultural heritage and warm, welcoming people, making it an ideal setting for the Canopy experience,” said Alexandra Murray, Hilton’s area vice president and regional head for Southeast Asia.

Wellness, Events, and a Partnership Celebrating Local Flair

Canopy Makati will also offer wellness amenities, including a pool deck and a high‑performance gym with top‑tier equipment and group classes. Reimagined meeting spaces designed for corporate events, weddings, and celebrations will draw on local creative inspiration to break the mold of traditional hotel functions. Ayala Land Hospitality President and CEO George Aquino said the collaboration is about more than adding rooms. “It’s not just about adding rooms, it’s about creating stays that spark curiosity and celebrate Filipino creativity. This exciting collaboration brings us closer to our goal of shaping the Philippines into a must‑visit destination, one unforgettable stay at a time,” he said.
