ILOILO — GT Mall Pavia came alive with the spirit of language and culture on August 29, 2026, as the mall hosted its Buwan ng Wika Celebration. The event, featuring the Paligsahan sa Pagkukuwento at Pag-aaawitan, brought together young talents from various schools in a meaningful celebration of Filipino heritage.
A Celebration of Language and Talent
The event carried the theme, "Wikang Filipino at AI: Kasangkapan sa Pananaliksik at Tulay sa Yaman ng Impormasyon." This theme highlights the evolving role of the Filipino language in the age of artificial intelligence. It positions the national language as a tool for research and a bridge to information wealth.

Winners Take Center Stage
In the Storytelling Competition, John Guilbien Jaro of Sambag Elementary School claimed first place. Keila Elleijah Pineda of Pavia Pilot Elementary School took second, while Ryza Mae T. Belaño of Brightmate Tutorial Center – Zarraga Branch secured third.
The Singing Contest saw Roi Visrael P. Lorilla of Brightmate Tutorial Center – Jaro Branch winning first place. Jannica Anya Arellano of Pavia Pilot Elementary School placed second, with Rafael Christian T. Avelino of Sambag Elementary School taking third. The winners received well-deserved recognition for their outstanding performances.
Community Support and Partnerships
The success of the event was made possible through the collaboration of various partners. Participating schools included Sambag Elementary School, Pavia Pilot Elementary School, and Brightmate Tutorial Center branches. Living Arrows Resource Center Inc. also joined the celebration.
Special performances from the Pavia National High School Choir and the Pavia Pilot Elementary School Ukulele Troupe added to the festive atmosphere.
