A Platform for Local Entrepreneurs
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has gathered 36 Leyte-based MSMEs for the five-day “Layag” Leyte Fiesta Bonanza Trade Expo 2026 at Robinsons Place Tacloban. Held in anticipation of the province’s June 30 fiesta celebration, the trade fair provides local entrepreneurs with an opportunity to showcase their products to a wider audience. Organizers exceeded their initial target of 30 exhibitors, reflecting growing interest among businesses eager to promote their goods and strengthen their presence in the market.
Driving Sales and Expanding Market Reach
DTI Leyte is targeting PHP4.5 million in sales during the event, surpassing last year’s recorded sales of PHP4.28 million. The trade fair features a diverse range of products, including processed foods, local delicacies, handcrafted furniture, and other specialty items from across the province. Through the “Layag” brand, which means “to sail,” the agency hopes to help local enterprises reach larger markets and connect with new customers and institutional buyers.
Supporting Economic Growth Through Innovation
Beyond generating sales, the trade expo serves as a venue for businesses to test newly improved products and gather valuable customer feedback. Market-testing booths allow exhibitors to evaluate product viability and consumer response while exploring future business opportunities. Officials believe that strengthening local enterprises through events like the Fiesta Bonanza Trade Expo contributes to job creation, entrepreneurship, and long-term economic growth throughout Leyte.
