TAGUIG CITY – With the deadline for the payment of real property tax (RPT) on March 31, 2026, now behind us, Taguig City reminds all concerned that prompt settlement is still necessary to avoid penalties and continued support for the development of the city.
Taguig City earlier announced to all concerned that those who were able to enjoy the 20% discount on early payments of RPT (paid on or before December 30, 2025) are required to settle their outstanding balance on or before March 31, 2026, to fully enjoy the discount. The outstanding balance represents adjustments pursuant to Ordinance No. 28 Series of 2025, which increased tax rates applied for the year.
Property owners who were able to make their first‑time payments for their 2026 RPT on or before March 31 are still entitled to a 7.5% discount on early payments. Today, April 2, those who have not settled their dues are now required to settle their dues in full.
Real Estate Impact
Another factor to consider in the yearly tax cycle for properties in Taguig, which has the famous Bonifacio Global City and several areas for both residential and commercial use, is the importance of paying the annual tax on time to avoid incurring additional fees.
Moreover, the tax collected from properties in the city is used to maintain the infrastructure and roads in the city, which has contributed to the city’s prestige as one of the top places for both residential and commercial use. The city has continually improved its transportation system, parks, and flood systems.
Timely settlement not only avoids penalties but also directly funds the very infrastructure and services that sustain Taguig’s real estate value, making compliance a sound investment for property owners.
