The Department of Education-Davao is officially setting the stage for the pilot implementation of Blended Learning 4.1 by pushing for tablet distribution across the region. Under the guidance of Regional Director Maria Ines Asuncion, the initiative aims to keep students engaged with their lessons even when extreme weather or natural disasters force schools to close. By pre-loading all necessary learning materials onto these devices, the program allows learners to access their curriculum anywhere, regardless of internet connectivity. This flexible strategy drastically reduces the negative academic impact of frequent class suspensions, providing a continuous educational experience for students in both high-tech and low-tech areas.
Building a Secure and Focused Digital Classroom
To make this ambitious vision a reality, DepEd-Davao is actively seeking collaborative funding from its central office, local government units, and various private sector partners. The initial rollout in the Davao Region is being targeted specifically for students in Grades 6 through 9, building upon a successful Grade 9 pilot previously executed in the Caraga Region.
