Representing Bacolod and the Negros Island Region
BACOLOD - Bacolod City's Ysabella Wuthrich and Negros Island Region representative Althea Nicole Gadingan of Talisay City are set to compete in Miss World Philippines 2027. The two candidates were formally introduced during a sashing ceremony held at Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod, marking the beginning of their journey toward one of the country's most prestigious national pageants. Their participation reflects the growing recognition of Negrense beauty, intelligence, and leadership while providing an opportunity to showcase the unique identity of the newly established Negros Island Region on a national platform.
Celebrating Beauty with Purpose
During the sashing ceremony, Miss World Philippines National Director Arnold Vegafria emphasized that the pageant celebrates more than physical beauty by recognizing women who use their influence to inspire positive change and meaningful service. He also encouraged the candidates to follow the example of Negros Occidental's Gwendolyn Fourniol, whose achievements continue to inspire aspiring queens from the region. The event also highlighted the importance of empowering women who can become ambassadors of culture, compassion, and leadership while representing their communities with pride.
Showcasing the Best of Bacolod and Negros
For both candidates, the competition is an opportunity to introduce the beauty, culture, and warm hospitality of Bacolod City and the Negros Island Region to a wider audience. Their participation goes beyond the pursuit of a national title by promoting the region's tourism, heritage, and community spirit. As preparations continue for Miss World Philippines 2027, local supporters look forward to seeing the two representatives proudly carry the Negrense identity on the national stage while inspiring future generations of young women to pursue excellence with confidence and purpose.
