ILOILO CITY — The Iloilo City Health Office Pharmacy Unit has earned a national platform to share its expertise in health supply chain management. The Department of Health – Bureau of Local Health Systems Development selected the unit to present at the 13th Learning Exchange Session on Local Health Systems Integration held virtually on June 9, 2026.
Ms. Jacqueline S. Blancaflor, a registered pharmacist holding a Master of Science in Pharmacy and head of the ICHO Pharmacy Unit, delivered the presentation. Her talk was titled “Delivering Health, Delivering Hope: The Role of Supply Chain Management Unit Iloilo in Universal Health Care.” She detailed the city's best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
A Model for Universal Health Care
The DOH session brought together local health systems from across the country to exchange knowledge on integrating procurement and supply chains into effective health service delivery. Iloilo City's selection as a presenter reflects its growing reputation as a leader in health governance. The invitation signaled that its systems are being recognized as replicable models for other local government units.
Ms. Blancaflor's presentation highlighted how the Pharmacy Unit ensures the consistent availability of essential medicines and supplies. She walked participants through the operational strategies that connect procurement directly to patient care.
