Strengthening Healthcare Services in Bacolod
The Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH), the Department of Health’s apex referral hospital in the Negros Island Region, is expanding its healthcare capacity through the construction of a new Mother and Child Building. The project is part of the hospital’s continuing efforts to improve medical services for mothers, newborns, children, and women requiring specialized care. Funded through the DOH Health Facilities Enhancement Program, the facility represents a major investment in improving healthcare access in the region.
A Modern Facility for Mothers and Children
The new building will have a total capacity of 189 beds located on the second and third floors. It will include regular ward beds, private rooms, isolation rooms, pediatric intensive care unit beds, and special care unit beds designed to accommodate different levels of medical needs. The facility will provide spaces for post-delivery care, critical obstetric and gynecologic cases, newborn services, and specialized pediatric treatment, including care for premature and low-birth-weight infants.
Supporting Regional Medical Needs Through Expansion
As a century-old institution, CLMMRH continues to upgrade its facilities to better serve patients referred from hospitals throughout Negros and Siquijor. The construction of the Mother and Child Building is expected to help address limited hospital space and improve the delivery of specialized healthcare services. Once completed, the project will strengthen Bacolod’s role as a major healthcare center in the region while providing better medical support for mothers and children.
