BUTUAN CITY — The City Government of Butuan and Robinsons Land Corporation have formalized a partnership to continue the Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS) at Robinsons Place Butuan from 2027 to 2029. The Memorandum of Agreement was signed to ensure the continued delivery of fast, efficient, and accessible services to business owners in the city. This initiative aligns with the national Ease of Doing Business program, which aims to streamline government transactions and reduce bureaucratic red tape. The BOSS provides a centralized venue where entrepreneurs can renew or register their businesses without visiting multiple government offices.
A Commitment to Streamlined Government Services
The renewed partnership underscores the local government's dedication to improving public service delivery. Through the BOSS, business owners can process transactions with key agencies including the Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Internal Revenue, and Department of Trade and Industry in one location. The city government has also implemented a technology-enabled queueing system to reduce waiting times and bring order to the renewal process. Under the system, applicants receive clear turn allocations based on their transaction type, which helps avoid overcrowding and ensures a more predictable experience.
Eliminating Red Tape Through Digital Innovation
The City Business Permits and Licensing Department has introduced online and digital payment options to promote convenient transactions for entrepreneurs. Digital payment options are available throughout the BOSS period, allowing business owners to complete payments and permit renewals online. This digital-first approach supports faster and more flexible transactions while improving transparency and creating a more investor-friendly environment. The city has also upgraded the physical security of its permits, with business permits now printed on board paper with enhanced security features to prevent falsification.
