Saboten was founded in 1966 in Shinjuku, Tokyo, and is now one of the largest tonkatsu chains in the world. Saboten Philippines, managed by Raintree Restaurants Group, opened its first Philippine branch in 2013 at Serendra, Bonifacio Global City, and a second branch at Glorietta 5 in Makati in 2014.
