Wendy's was founded by Dave Thomas on November 15, 1969, in Columbus, Ohio. After entering Asia with restaurants in Japan in 1980 and Hong Kong in 1982, the chain opened in the Philippines and Singapore in 1983. It is known for square hamburger patties on circular buns, sea salt fries and the Frosty.
