BACOLOD - After several years of waiting, residents of the Purok Arao 2 Relocation Area in Barangay Vista Alegre are moving closer to having safer and legal electricity connections. Installation of electricity poles began on Friday, September 4, marking an important step toward providing power infrastructure for the thousands of households in the relocation area. The project responds to a long-standing community need and aims to give families access to a more secure and organized electricity connection.
City Offices Work Together on the Project
The initiative is being carried out under the leadership of Mayor Greg Gasataya, with the participation of the City Administrator’s Office, Negros Electric and Power Corporation (NEPC), City Engineer’s Office, and Office of the Building Official. Their coordination supports the installation of the necessary infrastructure and helps move the community toward formal electricity connections.
