Providing Immediate Support to Fire-Affected Families
BACOLOD - Bacolod Mayor Greg Gasataya led the distribution of financial assistance on September 8 to families affected by fires in Barangay Mansilingan and Barangay Sum-ag. The assistance was based on the extent of damage suffered by each household, providing affected residents with immediate support as they begin recovering from the incident. The initiative reflects the city's continuing efforts to respond to families facing unexpected emergencies and help them rebuild their lives.
Assistance Based on the Extent of Damage
Families whose homes were totally damaged received PHP15,000 each, along with six long-span roofing materials. Meanwhile, those whose homes were partially damaged received PHP10,000 each and four long-span roofing materials. Families who were renting or sharing living spaces were also provided with PHP5,000 each to help address their immediate needs following the fire.
Helping Families Rebuild and Recover
Beyond financial assistance, the city government will also help affected families secure replacement copies of birth certificates and other important documents that were destroyed in the fire. Students who lost their school supplies will likewise receive new educational materials to help them continue their studies without additional disruption. Through these combined forms of assistance, the Bacolod City Government aims to help affected families recover more quickly while ensuring that both their immediate and longer-term needs receive attention.
