The Taguig Tourism and Trade Office recently welcomed the Liga ng mga Barangay – Catanduanes Chapter for a benchmarking visit designed to introduce the group to some of Taguig City's notable tourism destinations. As part of the visit, the Taguig Tourism and Trade Office led the participants on a city tour that brought together historical landmarks, memorial sites, and modern attractions, offering visitors a glimpse into the diverse experiences that Taguig has to offer.
Learning Through a Benchmarking Visit
Benchmarking visits provide local government and community representatives with opportunities to observe programs, destinations, and tourism initiatives that can offer ideas for their own communities. For the Liga ng mga Barangay – Catanduanes Chapter, the Taguig tour provided an opportunity to explore how the city presents its attractions while experiencing its tourism environment firsthand.
Exploring Taguig’s Heritage
One of the destinations included in the tour was the PEFTOK Korean War Memorial Hall, a site dedicated to remembering the Filipino soldiers who served during the Korean War.
The memorial provides visitors with an opportunity to learn about an important chapter in Philippine history while recognizing the sacrifices and contributions of Filipino veterans.
Remembering History at Manila American Cemetery
The city tour also featured the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, another significant historical site in Taguig. The cemetery serves as a place of remembrance and reflection, preserving the memory of individuals who lost their lives during World War II. Its peaceful grounds and memorial architecture provide visitors with a meaningful historical experience.
