BGC is set to welcome a new addition to its growing performing arts scene as Muli: An OPM Musical takes the stage at the Globe Auditorium, Maybank Performing Arts Theater, BGC Arts Center from September 11 to 27, 2026. Staging the production at the BGC Arts Center gives audiences another reason to experience the district through the performing arts. For theatergoers, it also creates an opportunity to discover an original Filipino production while spending an evening in one of Taguig's major cultural venues.
An Original Filipino Musical Takes the Stage
Muli is an original Filipino musical centered on love, loss, forgotten dreams, difficult choices, and second chances. Set against the nostalgia of the 1990s and early 2000s, the production explores the familiar feeling of wondering how life might have turned out if different choices had been made. The musical comes from the creative team behind Sa Wakas, including Charissa Pammit and Andrei Pamintuan, who serve as writer/executive producer and director, respectively. The book and lyrics are written by Pammit and Jose Paolo dela Cruz, while the music and lyrics are composed by Nica del Rosario and Matthew Chang.
A Story Built Around “What-Ifs”
At the heart of Muli is a question many people can relate to: What if you could go back and make a different choice? Rather than simply looking back at the past, the musical explores the roads people did not take, dreams they left behind, and the possibility of starting again. Its story moves through themes of memory, sacrifice, relationships, and the hope that it is never too late to find another direction.
OPM Takes Center Stage
Music plays a major role in bringing the story to life. Muli features 11 original songs, with contributions from Nica del Rosario, Matthew Chang, and the team at FlipMusic. The musical moves across different OPM influences while giving each song a purpose within the story. The production also features a strong cast led by Kakki Teodoro and Janine Teñoso, with Teñoso making her musical theater debut. They are joined by Vien King, Marvin Ong, Justine Peña, Marynor Madamesila, and Baus Rufo.
