Sports Bring Employees Together
BOHOL - Employees of the Provincial Government of Bohol gathered for the finals of a pickleball tournament on September 25 at The Pickle Labb as part of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary celebration. The competition brought together employees from different provincial government offices, giving them an opportunity to participate in an activity outside their usual workplace responsibilities. With eight competition categories covering men's, women's, mixed, and 41-years-old-and-up doubles divisions, the tournament created a friendly setting where employees could demonstrate their skills while building connections with colleagues from other offices.
Competition With Teamwork and Camaraderie
The tournament featured beginner and intermediate divisions, allowing participants with different levels of experience to take part. Employees competed in doubles categories while representing various provincial government offices, creating an atmosphere that combined friendly competition with teamwork. The finals also included an exhibition game that added another community element to the event. More than simply determining tournament winners, the activity provided employees with a chance to stay active, interact with colleagues, and strengthen relationships across different areas of government service.
Wellness Becomes Part of Workplace Culture
Activities such as workplace sports can provide employees with opportunities to remain physically active while developing communication, cooperation, and camaraderie. The pickleball tournament also reflects how employee-centered activities can become part of broader civil service celebrations, giving workers time to connect outside their regular duties. With support from the Bohol Association of Women in Government Service through venue sponsorship, the event highlighted the importance of wellness and positive workplace relationships while recognizing the people who contribute to public service across the province.
