A New Home After Repeated Typhoon Losses
BOHOL - A family in Barangay Katipunan, Bohol, that experienced the devastation of losing its home three times to strong typhoons has received a new house through the Bohol Police Provincial Office’s (BPPO) Libreng Alagad ug Balay (LAB) Project. The house was formally turned over on August 29 to the family of Eustaquio Cadeliña, providing them with a safer and more stable place to live after years of facing the effects of severe weather. The turnover also marked the family as the 135th beneficiary of the housing project, highlighting the program’s continued efforts to assist families in need.
A Community Effort to Provide Safe Housing
The housing project was implemented in partnership with the Balay sa Paglaum Housing Initiative of Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado and Representative Vanessa Aumentado, together with the Carmen local government, police units, barangay officials, and volunteers. The collaboration demonstrates how government agencies, local communities, and volunteers can work together to provide practical assistance to families affected by difficult circumstances. Through the construction and turnover of homes, the initiative not only addresses immediate housing needs but also helps families regain a sense of security and stability.

BPPO director PCOL Patricio Degay Jr. emphasized that the success of the LAB Project should not be measured solely by the number of houses constructed, but also by the lives positively changed through the program. For families like the Cadeliñas, receiving a new home represents more than a physical structure—it provides renewed hope and an opportunity to rebuild their lives with greater confidence. The continuing housing initiative reflects Bohol’s broader efforts to strengthen community resilience and extend meaningful support to families facing hardship, particularly those affected by natural disasters.
