Bacoor officially entered the competitive pickleball scene on August 18, 2026, as the Bacoor Strikers signed their first player contracts in a formal ceremony at Revilla Hall inside the Bacoor Government Center, marking a significant milestone for the city's sports development program.

The Inaugural Roster and Key Leadership

The Bacoor Strikers unveiled a two-tier roster designed to build both immediate competitiveness and long-term talent development. The main roster, designated as Team A, features Ricarte Santos, Vince EJ Tugade, Christy Sanosa, and Princess Lorben Marie Catindig. The developmental roster, Team B, includes Laurenz Quitara, Kent Octavo, Elise Marie Geluz, Leykie Lei Sanosa, and Claro Castillo .

Helming the team is Head Coach and Team Captain Herbert Legaspi, supported by coaches Enriq Enriquez and Felix Abellanosa, alongside assistant coaches Emil Vince Capulong and Elijah Raquiza. Team ownership and management are led by Mayor Strike B. Revilla as Team Owner, with Dennis Abella serving as Co-Owner and Team Manager, overseeing business operations and team direction . The team also has the strong backing of Megawide as its major corporate sponsor, with co-sponsor PH1 World Developers also supporting the initiative.

A Vision for Grassroots Sports Development and Community Pride

Bacoor's entry into competitive pickleball reflects a broader strategy to promote active lifestyles, develop local athletic talent, and uplift community pride. Mayor Strike Revilla, who witnessed the signing alongside Vice Mayor Rowen Bautista Mendiola and Councilor Karen Evaristo, emphasized the significance of this move, stating, "Pickleball is rapidly gaining popularity, and Bacoor is ready to be part of that movement. We want the Bacoor Strikers to be a team that our people can be proud of, one that represents the talent, determination and fighting spirit of Bacooreños" .

The Strikers will now prepare for competition in the upcoming Maharlika Pilipinas Pickleball Tour (MPPT), a nationwide tournament launched by boxing icon Manny Pacquiao. The MPPT features 12 founding teams from across the Philippines, including Bacoor, and will hold its first leg from October 3-4, 2026, in Angeles, Pampanga. Each leg winner will receive PHP1 million, with the season culminating in a championship round for the top eight teams in December 2026 . The league was created "to unite communities and provide Filipino pickleball players with a platform to showcase their talents," according to Pacquiao . The formation of the Bacoor Strikers, with support from Megawide, reflects the city's commitment to creating opportunities for athletes to compete, develop their skills, and represent Bacoor with pride on this growing national stage .
