A Sanctuary Born from Pandemic and Faith
The SVD Laudato Si' Farm was established in 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, when priests and seminarians began clearing idle land to address their food needs . What was once a six-hectare property that had remained unused for nearly six decades has now become a thriving model of integrated, community-led agriculture . Inspired by Pope Francis' encyclical Laudato Si', the farm operates under a six-pronged approach to sustainable development: farming, energy, water, livelihood, knowledge, and lifestyle .
The farm is located along Arnoldus Road in Barangay Maitim 2nd East, Tagaytay City, right beside the Pink Sisters Convent . It is surrounded by three religious communities: the Divine Word Seminary, the Pink Sisters, and the Missionary Sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit . Open daily from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, admission is completely free, though donation boxes are placed around the area for those who wish to support the farm's maintenance . For groups of 10 or more, especially during weekends or holidays, reservations are recommended at least a week in advance.
