CEBU — The magic of Disney is gliding into Cebu. Disney On Ice will make its Philippine debut at the SM Seaside Cebu Arena with the all-new production "Let's Dance!", running from November 28 to December 6, 2026. This marks the first time Cebuanos can experience the world-renowned show without leaving the island.
Cebu Chosen as First Philippine Stop
The announcement was made during a press conference on August 15, with Arnel Gonzales, vice president and general manager of SM Seaside Cebu Arena, expressing excitement about the event. He said Cebu was deliberately chosen as the first stop to give back to the community and bring more world-class shows to the region. The decision highlights Cebu's growing reputation as a hub for international entertainment.
The production will be staged at the new SM Seaside Cebu Arena, a landmark venue that is quickly becoming a destination for major events. For local families and Disney fans, this is a rare opportunity to see a global spectacle in their own city. The show will later move to Manila, but Cebu gets to experience the magic first.
A Dance Party on Ice
"Let's Dance!" transforms the traditional ice show into a giant, interactive Disney dance party. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy take on the role of DJs, remixing beloved Disney songs to connect scenes from different films. The format is designed to get audiences moving, with singing and dancing built directly into the experience.
The show brings together characters from "Frozen 2," "Moana," "Wish," "The Little Mermaid," and "The Lion King." Fans can expect appearances from Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Moana, Stitch, Asha, King Magnifico, Ariel, and Simba. More than 40 characters take the stage, creating a vibrant celebration of Disney stories.
Characters That Spark Wonder
The production features breathtaking spectacle both on and off the ice. Audience members will witness seven-foot jumps off ramps and aerial acrobatics on hoops suspended 32 feet above the ice. A mobile center stage rises more than 12 feet, adding another layer of visual excitement.
Skaters Sophie Sananikone and Allison White shared their personal connections to the show. White, who once watched Disney On Ice as a child, now performs for new generations. "I get to watch little kids in the audience, in their costumes, and they're just in awe," she said. "It's just an amazing feeling."
A Magical Family Experience
The show is designed for audiences of all ages. A screen displays song lyrics, inviting everyone to sing along to favorite Disney tunes. Matthew Garrick of Feld Entertainment noted that Filipino audiences likely know all the words already, making the interactive elements even more special.
The production takes about four days to assemble in Cebu, including installing the ice and completing technical rehearsals. This behind-the-scenes effort ensures a seamless and unforgettable experience. The show promises to be a highlight of the holiday season, creating lasting memories for families across the region.
