DAVAO — Collectors and hobbyists across Mindanao have found their paradise at Gaisano Mall of Digos, where Hobbytaat's Hobby Mania runs until October 10, 2026. The week-long celebration has transformed the Atrium into a vibrant showcase of toys, trading cards, and collectible treasures from every corner of the hobby universe.
A Collector's Dream Come True
The Toy and Collectible Exhibits form the beating heart of Hobby Mania, drawing enthusiasts eager to admire rare finds and complete their collections. Display cases overflow with detailed figures, diecast models, trading cards, and limited-edition pieces sourced from local and international makers.
Fans of popular anime will find familiar faces throughout the displays. Characters from Frieren, Jujutsu Kaisen, Bleach, and One Piece appear alongside countless other beloved series. These exhibits celebrate the global reach of Japanese animation while honoring the passionate Filipino collectors who keep the culture thriving.
Merchants Bring Hobby Treasures to Digos
Beyond the exhibits, merchants have set up shop with an impressive array of toys, cards, and collectibles available for purchase. Attendees can browse stalls offering rare finds, exclusive releases, and everyday hobby essentials. Many visitors arrive with shopping lists and leave with bags full of new additions.
Organizers have also announced an exclusive early release from BeazToys, featuring limited-edition figures available only during the event. Collectors are encouraged to visit between October 8 and 10 to secure these items before they disappear. Once sold out, these pieces may become difficult to find elsewhere.
Anime Favorites Take Center Stage
The event's appeal extends to fans of anime and manga who rarely find dedicated merchandise in provincial malls. From Demon Slayer to My Hero Academia, displays capture the diversity of modern Japanese pop culture. This accessibility brings joy to young enthusiasts who previously relied on online orders.
Local cosplayers have added another layer of excitement by dressing as their favorite characters. Their presence bridges the gap between merchandise and living fandom, creating photo opportunities and memorable encounters for fellow attendees. The event has become a meeting ground for like-minded individuals across generations.
Tournaments and Interactive Fun
Trading card game tournaments featuring Pokémon, Flesh and Blood, and other popular TCGs have drawn competitive players from across the region. Beyblade competitions add high-energy spinning battles to the lineup. A Learn to Play session welcomes newcomers, ensuring that beginners feel supported rather than intimidated.
Trivia nights and cosplay competitions round out the schedule, offering something for every type of hobby enthusiast. The inclusive atmosphere encourages participants to explore new interests without pressure. Whether competing or spectating, everyone finds a reason to stay and engage.
A Growing Hobby Community in Mindanao
Hobby Mania signals that Digos City has cultivated a passionate community of collectors, gamers, and creatives. Organizers invited participants from Davao, General Santos, Koronadal, Tagum, and Cagayan de Oro to join the celebration. The strong turnout demonstrates that hobby culture is alive and flourishing across Southern Mindanao.
The event continues daily until October 10, giving latecomers ample opportunity to experience the excitement. Attendees are encouraged to bring friends and family to share the experience. The Atrium remains the epicenter of hobby culture, welcoming everyone to touch hobby grass and celebrate community.
