MAKATI CITY —Filipino fashion takes center stage at Power Plant Mall as award-winning designer and creative director Peach Garde launches his first-ever Rockwell pop-up in Makati. Located at the R2 Level and running until September 30, 2026, the temporary retail space features a curated selection of designs that combine the refined structure of traditional Filipino formalwear with contemporary streetwear influences. From Iloilo to the National Fashion Scene
Peach Garde, whose real name is Peter Gagula, is an Iloilo City-based designer, educator, and creative director whose path into fashion began after initially studying nursing. He later pursued design, graduating from Iloilo Science and Technology University and continuing his training at Slim’s. His growing reputation received a major boost in 2025 when he won the Pacita Longos Gold Medal at Ternocon 2025, the country’s premier terno-making competition. His winning collection drew inspiration from the brutalist architecture of National Artist Leandro Locsin. Garde also received the Bench Design Awards and showcased his work at Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo that same year.
Reimagining Filipiniana for a New Generation
Garde’s aesthetic is distinguished by structured tailoring, sharp lines, and traditional materials such as piña, which he incorporates into more contemporary silhouettes. By combining heritage textiles with deconstructed forms and modern styling, his label presents Filipiniana in a way that connects traditional craftsmanship with present-day fashion. His designs have also been worn by P-pop group BINI during their historic visit to the Philippine Senate. Alongside his design work, Garde promotes Filipino craftsmanship through sustainable approaches and community-oriented initiatives, reinforcing the cultural value behind his creations.
