PALOMPON, Leyte — Connecting coastal and agricultural producers directly with local consumers, the Municipality of Palompon is set to host its 24th round of "KADIWA sa PALOMPON: Adlaw sa mga Mag-uuma ug Mangingisda" on Saturday, September 5, 2026.
Affordable Fresh Produce for the Community
The community market will run from 5:30 AM to 12:00 NN at Bitaog, located directly behind the Palompon Municipal Hall:
Farm-to-Table Access: Residents will have access to freshly harvested agricultural crops and seafood sourced straight from local farms and coastal waters.
Budget-Friendly Pricing: By cutting out third-party distributors, the KADIWA program ensures that staple food items remain accessible at low to moderate prices.
Bi-Monthly Schedule: The initiative serves as a regular fixture for local food security, recurring every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month.
Honoring Local Producers and Leadership Support
Building on the success of previous legs—including the well-attended edition on August 15, 2026—the local government unit (LGU) recognized the vital role of local producers in maintaining a resilient food supply chain.
Municipal Mayor Mary Dominique "DM" A. Oñate, Vice Mayor Javes Keith R. dela Calzada, and the members of the Sangguniang Bayan expressed gratitude to the town's farmers and fisherfolk for their continued dedication to bringing quality food to Palompon families.
