ORMOC CITY — The Ormoc City Tourism Office, in partnership with the Department of Tourism – Eastern Visayas (DOT Region 8), is hosting an intensive 7-day Community Tour Guiding Training program from September 8 to 14, 2026, at the Athletes’ Dormitory inside the Ormoc City Sports Complex.

Building Skills and Empowering Local Tourism Ambassadors

Running daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the comprehensive program equips local participants with essential knowledge, safety skills, and professional communication techniques to showcase the best of Ormoc City:

  • Day 1 – Tourism Overview: Participants explored foundational tourism concepts and examined the vital role community tour guides play in local economic development.

  • Day 2 – Basic Life Support Training: Trainees learned critical life-saving techniques and emergency response procedures to ensure visitor safety on tours.

  • Day 3 – Commentary Development: Attendees focused on crafting engaging, informative, and culturally rich tour narratives for prospective travelers.
