MAKATI CITY — Ayala Avenue is once again set to become a lively, car-free destination for fitness, recreation, and community activities as Car-Free Sundays marks its third year. On September 6, 2026, from 4:30 AM to 10:00 AM, the road will be closed to vehicles, allowing residents and visitors to run, walk, cycle, or simply enjoy the open streets without traffic. Now in its third year, Car-Free Sundays continues to bring together fitness enthusiasts, families, friends, and members of the community for a morning dedicated to fresh air, active living, and shared experiences. Participants may choose between the 3-mile (5KM) and 6-mile (10KM) run categories.

A Celebration of Movement and Community

This year’s event marks another milestone for the initiative, which has grown into a weekly tradition enjoyed by thousands of Makati residents and visitors. Car-Free Sundays provides a safe and accessible environment where people of different ages can take part in physical activities such as running, walking, and cycling. More than promoting fitness, the initiative encourages community interaction by bringing together people from different backgrounds who share an appreciation for an active and outdoor lifestyle.
