A City Ready for the Weekend Crowd

BACOLOD - With as many as 50,000 people expected each night along the Lacson Tourism Strip, careful planning is essential. The festival area stretching along Lacson Street from B.S. Aquino Drive to Social Security System-Cottage Road has opened with food kiosks, booths, and performance stages, creating one of the city’s busiest celebration zones. Festivalgoers can help make the experience safer by staying aware of their surroundings, keeping personal belongings secure, following traffic and crowd-control instructions, and looking after friends and family members throughout the celebration.

Big Performances Bring Big Crowds

The final weekend brings some of MassKara’s most anticipated activities. The Electric MassKara Float Parade has already brought illuminated floats from Megaworld’s The Upper East toward the Bacolod City Government Center. On Saturday, 11 schools will compete in the streetdance competition before gathering at the SM City Bacolod grounds for their arena performances. On Sunday, eight barangays will compete in the barangay category at the same venue. With performances, spectators, tourists, and local communities converging in the same areas, festival organizers and authorities are encouraging everyone to celebrate responsibly and respect fellow attendees.

Celebrating the Smile Behind the Festival

MassKara is more than a weekend of entertainment—it is a celebration of the resilience, creativity, unity, and love that have become part of Bacolod’s identity. This year’s theme, “Share the Smile. Celebrate Gugma (Love),” gives the celebration an even stronger community spirit while creating opportunities for local businesses and showcasing the city’s creative talent. As the final performances light up Bacolod, everyone has a role in making the celebration memorable for the right reasons. Bring the energy, enjoy the performances, support local businesses, and most importantly, help keep the City of Smiles safe as MassKara reaches its grand finale.
