The PhilGEPS notice lists an approved budget of PHP28.28 million and a planned contract duration of 131 calendar days. The notice was published on June 28, 2026, and was updated on August 17. The project shows that bridge rehabilitation is being treated as a concrete infrastructure requirement rather than simply a temporary road concern. Strengthening existing structures can also help extend their useful service and support safer, more dependable transportation.
Better Connections Matter to GenSan and Its Neighbors
The Silway corridor has significance beyond the bridge itself because General Santos City and Polomolok are closely connected by road. Route information places the trip between the two areas at roughly 20 kilometers through Silway 8, illustrating how the corridor links the city with communities farther into South Cotabato. The 2026 infrastructure program also includes other road investments in General Santos, including a ₱45 million concrete road with drainage connecting Dacera Avenue to the Silway 8–Upper Labay Bypass Road.
