BACOOR CITY, CAVITE — The City of Bacoor has solidified its reputation as a leading hub for youth empowerment after its youth leaders and development bodies swept major institutional honors at the Gawad Pawid Awards 2026. Spearheaded annually by the Provincial Government of Cavite, the prestigious awards circuit recognizes outstanding local government youth divisions, innovative barangay councils, and academic youth groups that deliver highly impactful social programs across the province.
The Elite Board of Bacooreño Honorees
The sweeping victory underscores the creative civic participation of Kabataang Bacooreño. By matching raw passion with highly structured local government support, these young leaders have turned grassroots advocacies into scalable community programs that actively build a more inclusive and progressive province. The official board of winners and finalists representing the City of Bacoor has been verified across three primary categories. The Bacoor Local Youth Development Office (LYDO), under the progressive leadership of Ms. Angie Cariaso, was officially conferred the title of Outstanding LYDO in the Province of Cavite for its excellent management of youth networks. The Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay P.F. Espiritu 1 clinched the Top 1 Best Innovative Program on Economic Empowerment trophy for their flagship project, "Pangkabuhayan Booths: SK Livelihood Support Program," and was also recognized as a national-level Finalist for Outstanding SK Council. Additionally, Bacoor City Youth Development Council affiliates were honored: YES-O of Eastern Bacoor National High School clinched the coveted Top 1 Best Innovative Program on Environment for PROPEL: Pilot Program in Waste Circularity and Waste Management; AVES Civil Society Organization, Inc. was named a Finalist for Best Innovative Program on Health, Education, and Social Inclusion and Equity for their health campaign, TATAK NO: Kabataan Para sa Warning Labels; and Ms. Lurleen Cortez was honored for her active, high-level civil contributions as a verified Provincial Youth Development Council Member.
A Testament to Youth-Driven Governance
Local leaders and youth administrators emphasized that these collective victories serve as a powerful testament to the dedication, intelligence, and creative vision of Bacoor's youth sector. Rather than acting as mere passive observers, Bacoor's young leaders are serving as critical, front-line partners in local governance. Their highly successful programs offer a functional, inspiring blueprint for youth organizations nationwide—proving that when a community actively invests in its youth, it secures a much brighter future for all. This recognition follows Bacoor's consistent performance in youth development, including the successful implementation of the Tara Basa literacy program and various sports and recreation initiatives that engage young Bacooreños in productive activities. The Gawad Pawid Awards, now in its third year, continues to celebrate the outstanding contributions of youth leaders who are shaping the future of Cavite through innovation and community service.
