Trinidad Completes Another Winning Run
BOHOL - Trinidad continued its impressive run in the women’s division by sweeping Cortes in a 2–0 finals series. The back-to-back championship gives the team another reason to celebrate while highlighting the competitive talent developing among Bohol’s young volleyball players. On the men’s side, Dauis also repeated as champion after overcoming Guindulman, securing its second consecutive title. Both teams showed the value of preparation, coordination, and composure when the biggest games arrived.
A League Built Beyond the Scoreboard
The tournament was hosted by the Local Government Unit of Balilihan under Mayor Trisha Chatto and organized through the Localization and Institutionalization of Games and Advocacies (LIGA) Program of the Provincial Youth Development Office. The initiative was carried out in partnership with the Provincial Government of Bohol and the Bohol Volleyball Association, Inc. More than competition, the league provides young athletes with opportunities to gain experience, develop confidence, and learn how to work toward a common goal. Every serve, save, set, and spike becomes part of a larger lesson in discipline and teamwork.
Keeping Grassroots Sports Moving
Events such as the Governor’s Cup help bring organized sports closer to communities while giving young Boholanos a reason to stay active and connected. Grassroots competitions can also help athletes discover their potential and inspire younger players to take part in sports. Trinidad and Dauis may be taking home the championships, but the bigger win is seeing more young athletes gain opportunities to compete, improve, and build friendships through volleyball. As Bohol continues investing in youth development, the court remains a place where healthy habits, character, and community spirit can grow.
