CLARK FREEPORT ZONE, PAMPANGA — Christmas in Clark has always been special. But this year, it's nothing short of spectacular. On October 23, the Clark Development Corporation officially ushered in the holiday season with the lighting of its holiday display and a free open-air concert by the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra at the Clark Parade Grounds. Under the theme "Clark Sparkles: A Symphony of Light and Music," the celebration was a feast for the senses — and a moment of hope for everyone who witnessed it.
The Spectacle That Took Our Breath Away
The evening was filled with one stunning reveal after another, including a 40-foot Christmas tree atop a seven-foot platform that towered over the grounds and shone bright, a 30-foot-diameter giant lantern that served as a glowing centerpiece capturing the spirit of the season, and illuminated holiday installations that transformed the Clark Parade Grounds into a wonderland of light. The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra performed 15 musical pieces live, filling the cool Clark air with melodies that warmed the heart. It was a night that reminded everyone why Christmas in the Philippines is unlike anywhere else in the world, blending world-class musical artistry with the warmth and joy of Filipino holiday traditions.
The Moment That Stole the Show
Perhaps the most breathtaking moment of the evening was the debut of Clark's musical fountain, synchronized with the orchestra's performance of "A Million Dreams." Water danced to music, lights reflected off every drop, and a crowd watched in awe—a moment of pure magic that stays with you long after the night ends. The program also featured "A Grand Symphony on the Grounds," presented by CDC in partnership with the Cultural Center of the Philippines, a collaboration that brought world-class artistry to an open public space. CDC President and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera summed up the meaning of the evening beautifully: "The lights in Clark, the lights from the Christmas tree, always shine. This will always give us that hope, every year, year in and year out." And CCP Orchestra Director Eugene De Los Santos reminded everyone why events like this matter: "Art belongs not only in concert halls, but also in open public spaces where communities come together." The celebration was made even more meaningful by the presence of Atty. Edgardo Pamintuan, Chairman of the CDC Board of Directors, members of the CDC Board, Clark locators, Metro Clark Advisory Council local government units including Mabalacat City, Angeles City, Porac, Pampanga, Bamban, Tarlac, and Capas, Tarlac, and CDC employees and their families—a true community gathering where everyone came together to celebrate the season and the spirit of Clark.
