Government services are set to come closer to communities in Dumaguete City as the provincial and city governments, together with various national government agencies, finalize preparations for the “Handog ng Pangulo 2026: Serbisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat” service caravan. The coordination meeting held on September 10 focused on bringing different government services together in one accessible location, with organizers expecting more than 4,000 beneficiaries on September 14 at the Dumaguete City Hall Forecourt.
Bringing Government Services Closer to the People
The upcoming service caravan is designed as a one-stop venue where residents can access various government programs, assistance, and public services without having to visit multiple offices. A total of 18 government agencies are expected to participate, creating a coordinated approach to public service delivery. Similar Handog ng Pangulo caravans held in other parts of the country have brought national and local agencies together to provide assistance, documents, livelihood support, health services, and other programs directly to communities. For Dumaguete residents, the initiative provides an opportunity to access several services in one location.
One-Stop Access to Important Documents
One of the key features of the caravan will be its one-stop shop for government documents. Residents who need assistance with government-related documents can take advantage of participating agencies gathered at the venue. Similar government caravans have included services such as civil registry assistance, National ID services, and other document-related transactions. Having these services available together can make government transactions more convenient, particularly for residents who may otherwise need to travel to different offices to complete their concerns.
Aid, Rice Distribution, and Government Assistance
Beyond documents, the Dumaguete caravan is also expected to provide aid and other forms of government assistance to qualified beneficiaries. The activity will include AICS and rice distribution, as well as the awarding of various government assistance programs. A Kadiwa ng Pangulo component will also be part of the event. Previous Handog ng Pangulo activities around the country have similarly combined social welfare assistance, affordable rice initiatives, livelihood programs, agricultural support, and other services in a single public-service event.
