ANGELES CITY, PAMPANGA - A new partnership between the Angeles City local government and the Hann Foundation, Inc. is set to boost local tourism and upgrade social welfare facilities, marking another milestone in the city's commitment to sustainable development and inclusive growth. Under the agreement, the Hann Foundation will donate an electric jeepney to support Angeles City's Heritage Tour and sustainable travel packages, while also committing to upgrade the Home for the Girls facility under the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO). This initiative builds on past collaborations, such as the Culinarium, which is already integrated into the city's heritage tours, demonstrating the foundation's long-term commitment to the community.

A Greener Way to Explore Angeles City's Heritage

The e-jeepney donation is a key highlight of the partnership, providing a sustainable and eco-friendly mode of transport for the city's Heritage Tour. This initiative supports the city's push for sustainable travel packages while showcasing the rich history and culture of Angeles City. Local artists will also be tapped to design the e-jeepney, adding a creative and distinctly Kapampangan touch to the project. Complementing this, tourism-related training will be provided to senior citizens, solo parents, and persons with disabilities (PWDs), ensuring that the benefits of tourism are shared across all sectors of the community.

Strengthening Social Welfare and Community Engagement

Beyond tourism, the partnership addresses critical social welfare needs through the upgrade of the Home for the Girls facility. This improvement will provide better living conditions and support services for young women under the care of the CSWDO. The collaboration also highlights the active participation of the Hann Foundation, a Korean-owned entity that has been involved in various community development initiatives in Pampanga. The agreement was formalized by Ana Christi Galura, Executive Director of the Hann Foundation, and Jose Aubrey "Jay" Pelayo IV, City Information Officer, representing Mayor Carmelo "Jon" Lazatin II. This partnership reflects a shared vision of progress that is both sustainable and inclusive.
