Bonifacio Global City is set to welcome an internationally recognized Vietnamese restaurant as The Lunch Lady prepares to open its first Philippine location. Famous for its authentic street-food flavors and signature noodle soups, the restaurant brings a taste of Vietnam’s vibrant culinary culture to Taguig, adding another international dining destination to BGC.
From a Humble Saigon Stall to Global Recognition
The Lunch Lady began as a noodle stall in Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, founded by Nguyễn Thị Thành in 1995. It gained international attention after celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain featured the stall on his television series No Reservations in 2009. Its reputation continued to grow beyond Vietnam, with its Vancouver location receiving Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition for five consecutive years from 2022 to 2026, while its Toronto branch earned the distinction in 2026. Today, the culinary team trained by Thành continues to preserve her family recipes and the traditional flavors that made the restaurant famous.
The Lunch Lady Opens Its First Philippine Location in BGC
Located at 102 Forbestown Road in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, The Lunch Lady is scheduled to open on October 29, 2026. Its Philippine debut introduces the restaurant’s signature Vietnamese dining experience to Manila, giving local food enthusiasts and international visitors an opportunity to discover the flavors that originated in Saigon. The opening also adds to BGC’s diverse restaurant scene, where international cuisines continue to attract residents, office workers, and travelers looking for new dining experiences.
Signature Vietnamese Dishes Meet Contemporary Dining
The restaurant’s Manila menu is expected to feature rotating Vietnamese noodle soups during lunch, followed by contemporary interpretations of Vietnamese and Southeast Asian street food in the evening. Guests can look forward to signature dishes such as Wagyu Phở, Steak Lúc Lắc, and Garlic Noodles, alongside charcoal-grilled specialties and craft cocktails. By combining traditional Vietnamese cooking with modern techniques and locally sourced Philippine ingredients, The Lunch Lady aims to preserve its culinary roots while offering a fresh dining experience in BGC.
