A Date With the Campus That Started It All
GENERAL SANTOS CITY - MSU–General Santos is inviting its graduates to return to campus on October 10, 2026, for Balik Tambler 2026, a grand alumni reunion bringing together MSUans from different generations. The gathering is being organized through the Alumni Relations Office in collaboration with the MSU Alumni Association and the Association of MSU Alumni. Beyond a simple homecoming, the reunion is intended to give graduates room to reconnect, exchange professional experiences, and explore ways to work with their alma mater. The timing also comes after a year in which MSU–GenSan has continued developing its alumni network, including a formal university-alumni partnership for the proposed Bahay Alumni.
From Old College Stories to New Connections
One of Balik Tambler 2026’s featured activities is “Kwentuhan at Balik-tanaw: College Get-Together,” a fitting part of a reunion built around shared memories. For graduates who studied at different times, the gathering creates a chance to compare experiences, reconnect with former classmates, and meet fellow alumni whose careers have taken them in different directions. MSU–GenSan’s Alumni Relations Office is specifically tasked with maintaining communication with graduates and helping develop programs that benefit both alumni and the university. That role gives reunions such as Balik Tambler a practical dimension: conversations that begin with memories can also lead to professional relationships, collaboration, and continued involvement with the campus.
A Reunion That Leaves Something Behind
The homecoming will also include “Puno Ko, Buhay Ko: Adopt a Tree Project,” giving the celebration an environmental and student-support component. According to the event information supplied by the Alumni Relations Office, the tree-growing activity will benefit Indigenous Peoples students, adding a community purpose to an otherwise festive occasion. The day will close with “Gabi Saya at Sining: Grand Socials & Party,” bringing alumni together for an evening celebration. The combination is notable because it gives Balik Tambler several purposes in one day—remembering the past, building relationships, supporting students, caring for the campus environment, and enjoying time together. It turns an alumni reunion into a gathering with something useful to give back.
