Another Fight Night Is Coming
BOHOL - The upcoming Kumong Bol-Anon 27 is expected to become PMI Bohol Boxing Promotions’ final boxing event of 2026. Although details remain under wraps, the promotion has already built anticipation after the successful staging of Kumong Bol-Anon 26 on September 12 at the Bohol Wisdom School in Tagbilaran City. That card featured a major rematch between Bohol’s Regie Suganob and South African boxer Sivenathi Nontshinga, with Suganob scoring a fifth-round technical knockout victory in an IBF world light flyweight title eliminator.
Who Could Take the Spotlight?
The next card does not yet have a confirmed headliner, but the promotion has several experienced fighters who could potentially take center stage. Among the names mentioned are reigning OPBF and WBO Asia Pacific minimumweight champion Joseph Sumabong and former world title challenger Christian Balunan, alongside promising fighters from the PMI Bohol Boxing Stable. Meanwhile, Suganob is expected to focus on his next major opportunity as he awaits the formal process for a mandatory world title challenge against reigning IBF light flyweight champion Thanongsak Simsri. That leaves plenty of room for another Bohol-based fighter to emerge as the star of the year-end card.
Bohol Boxing Has Bigger Plans
Kumong Bol-Anon 27 may close out PMI Bohol Boxing Promotions’ 2026 schedule, but the organization is already looking toward an even bigger 2027. The promotion has reportedly made offers to the camp of Simsri in an effort to bring a world title defense to Bohol. If negotiations eventually succeed, the province could find itself hosting a major world championship bout, putting its boxing scene on an even larger international stage. For now, fans have Kumong Bol-Anon 27 to anticipate—but if the promotion’s plans come together, Bohol’s biggest fight may still be waiting just around the corner.
