PHILIPPINES — Robinsons Land has officially launched Robinsons Sports and Leisure (RSL), a new business unit dedicated to injecting renewed energy, or "sigla," into everyday Filipino life. The initiative aims to bring world-class recreational experiences directly into local communities.
A 'Glocal' Vision for Recreation
RSL adopts a distinctly "glocal" approach, blending international trends with local interests. By understanding the specific lifestyles of the communities they serve, the brand ensures that both first-time players and serious athletes feel completely at home in their facilities.
Ramon Rivero, Robinsons Land's Chief Strategist and RSL Head, emphasized that the goal is to make exciting global experiences accessible to everyone. He noted that offering spaces for connection and confidence is central to the unit's core philosophy.
Maximizing Existing Urban Spaces
Building on 46 years of real estate expertise, RSL plans to repurpose existing developments. Rooftops and open areas across various properties will be transformed into sports courts and recreational hubs, integrating fitness seamlessly into daily routines.
Mybelle V. Aragon-GoBio, Robinsons Land President and CEO, shared that this expansion allows their destinations to offer more meaningful experiences. It aligns with the company's premiumization strategy to create distinctive and rewarding community spaces.
Elevating Fitness and Pickleball
The action kicks off on November 29, 2026, as the RSL Run Crew debuts at the AIA Rock 'n' Roll Running Series Manila. This international event promises a vibrant celebration of fitness and camaraderie along the capital's historic streets.
On December 7, GX Sports opens at Robinsons Galleria, featuring two pickleball courts and an official HYROX Training Zone. This facility will provide race-standard equipment and structured programming to prepare athletes for the demanding global fitness race.
At Bridgetowne, a massive pickleball expansion is underway. The Helios Beta will host the PPA Asia 500 Manila Open 2027, while the upcoming 25-court Helios Pickleball Center will feature design consulting from professional players Collin and Ben Johns.
The Future of Leisure and Entertainment
RSL is also expanding into cultural experiences with the upcoming NUSTAR Grand Theater in Cebu. Slated to open in 2028 with approximately 1,850 seats, it is positioned to become the largest entertainment venue in the VisMin region.
Beyond sports and theater, the company is exploring golf simulators, padel courts, and wellness spaces. Each venture is carefully evaluated based on community demand to ensure long-term success and consistent high standards across all locations.
