ANGELES CITY, PAMPANGA — Angeles City firmly solidified its reputation as Central Luzon's premier entertainment hub as the country's biggest musical variety showcase took over the city.
The Magic of FranSeth and A-List Performances
The arena reached a fever pitch during the highly anticipated appearances of the country's top tier love teams and musical heavyweights, led by screen sensations Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin (FranSeth), fresh off their explosive campus takeovers at Holy Angel University and the City College of Angeles. From synchronized pop choreographies and powerful vocal power-ballads to laugh-out-loud artist interactions, the high-octane setlist delivered non-stop energy throughout the event. "Music. Saya. Kilig. Memories. Lahat 'yan, naranasan sa Angeles City!" the Angeles City Information Office declared in its post-event release . The concert, held at the Lapid Arena (Angeles City Sports Complex) in Barangay Pampang, was part of the grand Fiestang Kuliat Seranata 2026 celebrations that also featured a traditional open-air brass band concert earlier in the evening.
Culturally Rooted: Spotlighting the 'Lubenas' Angeles Parol
What elevated the event from a standard commercial roadshow was the intentional integration of deep Kapampangan heritage. The main stage and arena perimeter proudly showcased the city's indigenous Lubenas Angeles City Parols—the historic, intricate white lanterns traditionally illuminated during local lantern processions . This breathtaking traditional backdrop was paired with high-energy dance numbers from the city's elite Kabataang Angeleños youth dance troupes, proving that modern pop culture and rich ancestral traditions can seamlessly share the spotlight. The Lubenas tradition, a centuries-old Kapampangan devotion dating back to the 1800s, involves a nine-day lantern-led religious procession featuring cross-shaped lanterns, 12 lanterns representing the apostles, and the chanting of "Dios te Salve, Maria" . The concert provided a massive boost to the local economy, filling up hotels, restaurants, and transport networks across the city, with many concert-goers maximizing their weekend by exploring the concurrent Ngening Ka Fiestan food bazaars and artisan markets at the nearby Heritage District.
