ILOILO — Runners and farming advocates will converge at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol on October 3, 2026, for Farm Run 2026, a 5K community run organized to support local farmers. The event carries the theme "From Seed to Speed, Let's Run for Sustainable Farming!"
A Run with a Purpose
The Farm Run is more than a fitness activity; it is a fundraising initiative with a clear agricultural mission. All proceeds from the event will be used to purchase farm inputs that will be distributed directly to beneficiary farmers. This ensures that every registration fee contributes to strengthening the local agricultural sector.
Organizers emphasize that the run symbolizes the journey from planting to harvest. Participants become partners in sustainable farming simply by lacing up their shoes and joining the cause. It is community action at its most practical and impactful.
Affordable Registration, Rich Inclusions
Registration costs only ₱180 per participant, making the event accessible to students, families, and casual runners. The fee includes a race bib, snacks, and a raffle stub. Finishers will also receive seedlings, a meaningful token that allows them to plant their own small gardens at home.
For those who want to show deeper support, an exclusive Farm Run shirt is available for ₱450. Wearing the shirt signals solidarity with local farmers and helps raise additional funds for farm inputs. The shirt features the event's vibrant branding and serves as a wearable statement of advocacy.
More Than Just a Race
The event encourages participants to embrace the spirit of farming by wearing their best farmer outfit. Exciting prizes await those who showcase creativity and authenticity in their agricultural attire. This playful element adds festive energy while honoring the hardworking men and women who till the soil.
The 5K route offers a manageable distance for beginners and experienced runners alike. Check-in begins at 4:00 AM, with the gun start at 5:30 AM, allowing participants to enjoy the cool morning air. The early schedule also avoids the midday heat, ensuring a comfortable experience for everyone.
Supporting Farmers Beyond the Finish Line
The beneficiary farmers represent the backbone of Iloilo's agricultural economy. By providing farm inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, and tools, the event addresses immediate needs that can translate into bountiful harvests. This direct assistance bypasses bureaucratic delays and reaches farmers efficiently.
The initiative reflects a growing movement to connect urban communities with rural livelihoods. Runners from the city gain a tangible way to support agriculture, while farmers receive resources that sustain their work. The run builds a bridge between consumers and producers, fostering mutual appreciation.
Organizers and Partners
The event is organized by Passion Events & Services in collaboration with Smart Farming Asia, Nutriboost Nano Plus, and the Provincial Government of Iloilo. Various sponsors and partners have pledged support, including local businesses and agricultural organizations. Their contributions amplify the event's reach and impact.
