Healthcare and Education Take Center Stage
OZAMIZ CITY- Among the accomplishments presented were expanded hospital capacity and free hospitalization assistance reportedly extended to more than 213,000 patients. The address also cited improvements in tuberculosis treatment, declining dengue cases, and wider access to health services. In education, the One Family, One Professional (OFOP) program was reported to have supported 9,240 scholars and produced 2,352 graduates. These figures highlight two essential areas of community development: making healthcare more accessible and helping more families pursue educational opportunities.
More Opportunities for Work and Livelihood
Employment and livelihood development also formed part of the province’s reported progress. The presentation cited an increase in employment from 95.1 percent in 2024 to 95.8 percent in 2025, alongside continued support for agriculture and fisheries. These sectors matter to communities throughout Misamis Occidental, where farming, fishing, and related enterprises contribute to household income and local commerce. For Ozamiz residents, provincewide programs in these areas are relevant to the broader effort to expand opportunities for workers, producers, and families.
Connecting Communities Through Development
The address also covered infrastructure projects, tourism development, and free Wi-Fi connectivity in 196 areas across the province. These initiatives point to different ways development can reach daily life, from improving physical connections to supporting access to information and promoting local destinations. The inclusion of these sectors in the provincial report gives residents a broader picture of the priorities being pursued beyond individual projects or municipalities. As Misamis Occidental moves forward, the lasting value of these efforts will be measured by how consistently communities can access the services, facilities, and opportunities being developed.
