Candoni Joins Provincial Tourism Week Celebration
BACOLOD - The Municipal Government of Candoni, under the leadership of Mayor Engr. Ray R. Ruiz, through the Municipal Tourism Operations Office, participated in the opening day of the 26th Provincial Tourism Week Celebration on September 8, 2026, at Ayala Malls Capitol Central in Bacolod City. The celebration brings together local government units and tourism stakeholders from across Negros Occidental to promote the province’s diverse destinations, culture, and local products.
Highlighting Innovation in Tourism Development
Carrying the theme “Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism,” this year’s celebration highlights the growing role of technology and innovation in tourism development and promotion. The event provides an opportunity for participating communities to explore new ways of presenting their destinations and connecting local tourism products with a wider audience. Candoni’s participation reflects the municipality’s efforts to promote its tourism potential while embracing emerging approaches in the industry.
Promoting Candoni’s Culture and Local Products
Candoni showcased its tourism offerings, local culture, and locally produced food and non-food products through the CHICKS District Booth, giving local producers and tourism stakeholders greater exposure during the celebration. Adding color to the municipality’s participation were Lin-ay sang Candoni 2026 Pia Bianca Soriano and Ms. Hennysy Wyne Noel, Lin-ay sang Candoni – Ambassador of Health and Environment, who graced the booth during the opening activities. The Provincial Tourism Week celebration will continue until September 12, 2026, providing Candoni and other participating LGUs with opportunities to promote their communities and strengthen tourism collaboration across Negros Occidental.
