Southern Leyte State University researcher Jerome Jack Napala described Sogod Bay as a balance between ecological richness and emerging tourism, emphasizing conservation policies and community engagement. A stronger dive-tourism sector can create opportunities beyond the dive boat itself. Accommodation providers, restaurants, transport operators, guides, equipment services, photographers, and other small businesses can all become part of the visitor economy surrounding a marine destination. The available 2026 reports do not establish a specific increase in property prices or tourism revenue, so those claims should not be made without additional evidence.
