K-9 Unit Conducts Airport Security Inspection
BOHOL - The Provincial Government of Bohol, through its Provincial K-9 Unit, conducted a security paneling operation at Panglao International Airport on November 5, 2026. The activity aimed to strengthen airport security and help prevent illegal drugs and other prohibited substances from entering the province. K-9 personnel and their trained dogs were deployed to inspect designated airport areas and support security personnel in identifying possible threats.
Inspections Help Protect Passengers and Facilities
The operation reinforced the importance of vigilance in areas where travelers arrive, depart, and pass through security checkpoints. K-9 inspections provide an additional layer of support by helping personnel detect substances that may otherwise be difficult to identify through routine observation. These coordinated efforts contribute to maintaining a secure airport environment while protecting passengers, airport workers, and facilities.
Airport Safety Supports Bohol Tourism
Panglao International Airport serves as an important gateway for visitors traveling to Bohol, making security an essential part of the province’s tourism and transportation services. Initiatives such as the K-9 operation support the Provincial Government’s public safety efforts under Governor Aris Aumentado’s Strategic Governance Roadmap. By strengthening security measures at key entry points, Bohol continues to work toward protecting residents and visitors while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment across the island province and its UNESCO Global Geopark.
