The Buglasan Festival 2026 LGU Booths Fair has officially opened in Negros Oriental, bringing together local government units (LGUs) to showcase their communities’ culture, tourism destinations, local delicacies, and livelihood products. The fair opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and the first round of judging, highlighting the creativity and community pride of participating cities and municipalities. The event is one of the highlights of Buglasan Festival 2026, celebrating the province’s diverse heritage and local identity.

Discover the Best of Negros Oriental in One Place

The LGU Booths Fair gives visitors an opportunity to discover what makes each community in Negros Oriental unique. Through their displays, participating localities highlight their traditions, historical heritage, tourism attractions, and locally made products. From regional delicacies to livelihood goods, the booths provide a glimpse into the province’s rich culture and the work of local communities. Visitors can explore different destinations and learn more about the products and traditions that represent each municipality and city.

Celebrating Local Creativity and Community Pride

The first round of judging allowed participating LGUs to present their booth concepts and creative displays. Each booth reflects the identity of its community, showcasing local stories, distinctive attractions, and cultural traditions. Governor Manuel “Chaco” L. Sagarbarria led the opening activity alongside Dumaguete City Mayor Manuel “Chiquiting” Sagarbarria, Congresswoman Maisa Sagarbarria, Councilwoman Chessa Sagarbarria, Congresswoman Janice Degamo, members of the Provincial Board, Mabinay Mayor Ernie “Jango” Uy, and mayors from other localities across the province. Their participation highlighted the importance of cooperation among local governments in promoting tourism, preserving heritage, and supporting community development.

Different Stories, One Aspiration

This year’s Buglasan Festival carries the theme “Different Stories. One Aspiration. One Negros Oriental.” The LGU Booths Fair brings that message to life by celebrating the unique characteristics of each participating community while emphasizing unity and shared provincial pride. By presenting their local attractions, food products, traditions, and livelihood initiatives, LGUs help introduce visitors to the diversity of Negros Oriental. The fair also creates opportunities to increase awareness of local products and encourage interest in the province’s tourism destinations.
