Bigby's Cafe & Restaurant was founded in Cagayan de Oro on December 8, 1998 by Henrik Yu, his wife Anne Lim-Yu, and long-time friend Catherine Genabe, who wanted to bring the international comfort food they discovered as exchange students abroad back to their home city. Built around a 'food adventure' theme between fine dining and fast-casual, it became a CDO dining institution and a repeat Grand Champion of the Kumbira culinary competition, later expanding across Mindanao, the Visayas and Metro cities.
