Kuya J began as a small Cebu neighborhood eatery called 'Ang Kan-anan ni Kuya J'. Businessmen Lowell L. Yu and Winglip K. Chang acquired and relaunched it as the Kuya J Restaurant chain in 2015 under Kuya J Group Holdings Inc., opening roughly 100 stores in under three years. It is now one of the country's fastest-growing casual-dining Filipino chains, known for crispy pata and grilled scallops.
