Mang Inasal was founded on December 12, 2003 by Edgar 'Injap' Sia II in Iloilo City, built around Ilonggo-style chicken inasal served with unlimited rice. Jollibee Foods Corporation acquired 70% of the chain in October 2010 and bought out the remaining 30% in April 2016. It has since grown to roughly 570 stores nationwide, making it the country's largest grilled-chicken chain.
