Ramen Nagi was founded in Tokyo in 2004 by ramen master Satoshi Ikuta, who trained for over a decade in Hakata-style ramen shops. The Philippine franchise opened on December 16, 2013 at SM Aura Premier in BGC, introducing its build-your-own Hakata tonkotsu 'Kings' — Butao, Black King, Green King and beyond — to Manila. It has since expanded across Metro Manila and to provincial SM malls.
