JY Square Mall, Salinas Drive, Lahug, Cebu City

Turks began in 2007 as a single food cart at the SM City Sta. Mesa food court, founded by then-26-year-old Gem Zenarosa with his wife Angel Glo. Because malls rejected open shawarma grills, Zenarosa designed an enclosed glass cart that won SM's approval — a design that let the brand expand mall by mall. Turks opened to franchising in 2016 and grew to more than 600 branches nationwide by 2022.
