Clearing Banago Creek to Improve Water Flow
BACOLOD - The Bacolod City Engineer’s Office has deployed a Long Arm Excavator to Banago Creek near the Bacolod North Terminal as part of the city’s continuing clearing and desilting efforts. The equipment was moved from Cabalagnan Creek in Pahanocoy to help remove accumulated soil, vegetation, and garbage that have reduced the creek’s capacity. The operation is intended to restore more space within the waterway and allow water to flow more efficiently.
Removing Debris From Critical Waterways
The accumulation of soil, overgrown vegetation, and waste can restrict waterways and affect their ability to carry rainwater during heavy rainfall. Through the clearing operation, the city aims to remove these obstructions and improve the condition of Banago Creek. Regular maintenance of waterways is an important part of keeping drainage channels functional, particularly in areas that may be vulnerable to flooding during periods of intense rain.
